Oil painting on canvas depicting architectural ruins with characters from the 1700s, the work could be referred to Leonardo Carlo Coccorante (Naples 1680 -Naples 1750) Coccorante studied with Jan Frans van Bloemen, Angelo Maria Costa and finally with Gabriele Ricciardelli. In 1714 and here he married Giovanna Golino. From 1737 to 1739, he worked on the decorations of the royal palace of Naples for Charles of Bourbon, king of the Two Sicilies. Coccorante died in Naples in 1750, the paintings depicting architectural ruins were a classic of his painting.
