Empire period work attributed to Claude Galle.
Claude Galle(1759-1815) bronzier Supplier of the crown’s storage, under the direction of sculptor Jean Hauré from 1786-88. Claude Galle worked with André Antoine Ravrio, Pierre-Philippe Thomire, among many craftsmen; also he supplied the majority of the furnishing bronzes to the Château de Fontainebleau under the Empire and received numerous imperial orders for the palaces of Saint-MichelCloud, the Trianons, the Tuileries, Compiègne and Rambouillet. He supplied the Italian palaces of Monte Cavallo in Rome and Stupinigi near Turin.
