It was by taking the diminutive of her maternal family name that she formed her artist name with which she would sign her first works: "Roboa". Attracted to painting at a very young age, she was noticed by a critic from Le Figaro who described her as an artist "exquisite with subtle and refined colors." Indeed, a skilled colorist, she expressed herself equally well in pastels and oils. If the former emphasize the softness of faces, the cozy atmosphere of young women captured in moments of intimacy, the use of oils contrasts above all with her pronounced taste for the material in a "fauve" spirit.
