He is the 9th of 10 children. He claims to have never attended any school and it is very likely that his father taught him the trade. The family arrived in Paris in the years 1907/1908. Roger Favin exhibited for the first time at the Salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1928. He presented 3 busts there including that of his mother. He participated regularly. He became an associate member of the Société nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1932 and a member in 1933. He received the Henri Gsell and Isidore Paquin prizes. This sculptor is responsible for numerous sculptures, often in wood, but also produced in bronze or terracotta. The representation of African figures is in the first position. Very few works are dated, and often without trace of founder. He died in Paris, aged 85, on April 14, 1990.
