"Rare Tournai Porcelain Plate 18th Century "
Soft porcelain plate from the service of Bishop Wavrans with a contoured edge decorated in blue and gold monochrome with flowers in the center and on the rim with garlands of flowers held by knotted ribbons. 18th century. D. 24 cm This plate is part of the service of Monseigneur Félix de Wavrans, Bishop of Ypres from 1762 to 1784. Several pieces are kept at the Royal Museums of Brussels, in Mariemont as well as in Paris at the Museum of Decorative Arts. The service was sold in 1880 by Charles Hynderick, great nephew of the bishop.
