"Fireplace Mantel Clock Bronze Italian Fisherman Candelabra Napoleon III 19th Century"
Imposing mantelpiece set consisting of a clock with a bronze sculpture representing an Italian fisherman with his son during a mandolin lesson, his nets at his feet, marble and blackened wood base with rich ornamentation (cherubs, shells, mythological dolphins, face of Poseidon...), richly decorated 6-light candelabra, Napoleon III period, 19th century. This clock is in good condition and is of exceptional quality. The whole is very decorative due to its large dimensions. The movement works, we have the key and the pendulum. The iconography focuses on the marine theme with the Italian fisherman and his nets as the main subject, the small putti sitting on mythological dolphins on the clock and the candelabra or sitting inside large shells; as well as the face of the god Poseidon (Neptune) appearing at the bottom of the clock. Please note: small accident on the marble on one side of the clock, some dirt and wear from time, the small buttons between the cherubs on the base of the candelabras are different, see photos (complete files on our website).
