Pair Of Elegant Bronze Busts Signed Lve Robert And Marin

Elegant pair of bronze busts representing classical female figures. One is signed LVE Robert (Louis Valentin Elias Robert, 1821-1874) The other is signed Marin (probably Jacques Marin, 1877-1950) These sculptures are distinguished by the great finesse of their chiseling, visible in the detail of the hairstyles, the expression of the faces and the rendering of the draperies. Notably, the two women are delicately turned towards each other, creating a subtle visual interaction. They rest on rich square bases in sea green marble, with deep shades and characteristic veining. The patina of the bronzes is in excellent condition and has been waxed highlighting its warm color and protecting its beauty.
