Very pretty oil on canvas measuring 61cm x 50cm plus Montparnasser frame representing a bouquet of flowers in a glass jug all treated in an impressionist manner A great sensitivity emerges from this work, a great delicacy in an artistic blur dear to the impressionists of this end of the 19th century Painting signed lower right by Albert LEBOURG Great painter of the School of Rouen Albert Lebourg was born in 1849 and died in 1928 in Rouen In 1872 he was proposed as a drawing teacher in Algeria He returned to France in 1877 before undertaking trips to Holland and England, he joined Paris towards the end of the 1890s During the year 1910, he stayed in Amiens. And, in the autumn, he was on vacation in Chalou-Moulineux, a village in the southern suburbs of Paris. He won a bronze medal at the International Art Exhibition in Barcelona in 1911. That same year, he exhibited views of Amiens and Chalou-Moulineux at the Nationale des Beaux-Arts. The most important exhibition dedicated to him took place in 1918 in Paris at the Galerie Georges Petit. Having a studio on Rue de Poissy in Paris, he remained there until 1920 before returning to his home in Rouen where he fell ill. In 1924, he was promoted to the rank of Officer of the Legion of Honor. Suffering from paralysis, Lebourg stopped painting in 1925 and died in 1928 after a painful illness. He is buried in the monumental cemetery of Rouen. His works are featured in the greatest national and international museums, including ORSAY and L'HERMITAGE.
