Framed Christ, known as bed base. Beautiful production from Dieppe, finely carved Christ. Frame gilded with gold leaf. France, late 19th century. Good general condition, I note a 2mm loss on the left thumb and small cracks in the gilded wooden frame. Frame height 27cm, width 24 cm. Dimensions of the Christ 12 cm X 9.5 cm. This ivory being more than a hundred years old, these are antiques which are not covered by the regulations. Our Christ complies with the requirements of the Washington Convention of 1947 concerning the ivory trade.
