Jacob Frères (1797 - 1803) Firm created by the union of Georges Jacob's two sons: François-Honoré-Georges and Georges II. The company name disappeared with the death of the latter. The decorative arts are a fine symbol of the highly evolved and turbulent Directoire and Consulate periods. This is all the more true when it comes to furniture and seating from the workshops on rue Meslay. Indeed, the Jacob sons were able to catalyze the stylistic trends and expectations of fast-rising merchants and financiers, as well as those of the political class. They were notably responsible for decorating the Hotel de la rue Chantereine for Générale Bonaparte, as well as refurnishing a number of apartments in the Tuileries and Saint Cloud.
