- Bronze, mercury gilding
- Parisian workshop, late Empire period (circa 1815)
- Total height: 22 cm; width: 10 cm
- Very good condition, superb gilding, skillfully pierced for electricity
- Pair of gilt bronze wall lights whose plate is formed by a swan with wings joining, with a long swan neck whose beak holds the bobèche surmounted by the socket; the base of the body made up of acanthus and scrollwork with palmettes. The chiseling is particularly neat and advanced, the gilding varying the effects of shine and mattness to magnify the chiseling.
- Bronze swan wall lights are generally associated with bathroom lighting such as the pair delivered for the Emperor's Bathroom at the Grand Trianon in 1809 by Claude Galle.
