Karel Dierickx, born in 1940 in Ghent, and died in 2014 in the same city, is a Belgian painter. He studied with O. Landuyt at the Royal Academy of Ghent between 1960 and 1962. He won the Young Belgian Painting Prize in Brussels in 1961 and the Godecharle Prize in 1964. In 1973 he was a professor of painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. For 25 years, he directed young artists including Yves Beaumont, Wim Delvoye, Jan Van Imschoot and Jan Van Oost.
