Circa 1938-1940FranceEvening dress and bolero in black silk panne velvet painted with floral bouquets dating from the beginning of the Second World War. Sheath dress, cut on the bias and large open back neckline held by wide straps, applied with painted velvet patches. The dress is flared at the bottom accentuating the grace of the walk, On one side, a slit opening with snap buttons, allowing a less restrictive putting on. The bolero with a wide collar hugging the shoulders, is tilted at the back, thanks to wide ruffled basques. It has a neckline on the front closed by a large matching button and small short puffed sleeves. The bodice is lined with black duchess satin and unmarked. I won't hide from you that this set is rare and uncommon, it is a museum piece, possibly wearable for a very slim young girl. No flaws to report. Beautiful condition of color and preservation. Dimensions: Equivalent to French size 34-36. Jacket: shoulders 36 cm, chest 87 cm, waist 74 cm, front height 56 cm, back height 77 cm. Dress: chest 84 cm, waist 64 cm, hips 86 cm, height 145 cm.
