"Louis XIV Period Mantel Clock"
Very fine Mansart-style dome-shaped mantel clock, in tortoiseshell marquetry with a red background and gilded brass, known as Boulle marquetry, decorated with acanthus leaves, bouquets of flowers, lambrequins, quatrefoil motifs, a figure dancing under a canopy, birds, squirrels, etc. and ornamentation of chiseled and gilded bronzes such as Winged Victory, friezes of floral interlacing, urns, heads of old men, falls of flowers and foliage, standing on four claw feet (small accidents and alterations).
Gilt bronze dial with enamelled cartels indicating the hours in Roman numerals, original movement (plate suspension - modified).
Louis XIV period.
