Rare processional banner in embroidered silk and painted on canvas depicting Saint Louis de Gonzague. French work circa 1900, richly decorated with fleurs-de-lis and roses in gold thread, original gold fringes.

Description

The background of the banner is in white silk damask with floral motifs. The central image is hand-painted on canvas, framed with a gold braid. It shows Saint Louis de Gonzague in prayer.The banner is richly decorated with applied embroidery:Fleurs-de-lis and roses in gold thread on each panel,Lower fringe in twisted gold thread,Suspension rings at the top to attach it to a processional pole.
