Lithograph By Henri Rivière The Magic Of The Hours - The Night

This lithograph “La Féérie des Heures - La Nuit” is signed Henri Rivière and bears a red stamp in the lower left corner (barely visible). The work is authentic and old. For the condition, note in the margin a difference in size between the top and the bottom, small stains and dirt, a tear (2 cm). On the litho, we note tiny white spots in the lower left corner. The lithograph is very fresh in color, once framed most of the defects will be barely visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with intaglio engraving, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he began a career as a director and scenographer in 1886, from the shadow theater to the Chat Noir cabaret, shows that he improved by creating very innovative color sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving and established himself in the history of etching, printmaking, woodcuts, lithography and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
