"Mexico, 1960s/1970s, Large Polychrome Terracotta Statue Of An Aztec God."
Mexico, 1960s/1970s, superb and large polychrome terracotta statue of an Aztec god. He is seated and holds in his right hand a removable scepter whose end represents a flower. Creation of very good quality, both in the work of the earth and the firing and painting, is consistent with pre-Columbian creations in a striking realism. Height 31.5 cm. The scale witness on the last photograph is a small model of a lighter of a well-known brand. Stamp indented under the base attesting that the sculpture was made in a workshop in Mexico City. Good condition. No shock, no crack, no lack. Just note that the scepter was broken and glued back at the handle, absolutely invisible in normal position because the hand hides this very discreet restoration and without any impact on the aesthetics.
