"Console Table Carved And Gilded, Louis XV, 1730."
This eventful shaped console table rests on four curved legs joined by a spacer overcome a double palmette. The entire decoration is carved and perforated asymmetric manner. The animation of scenery given by the various patterns of leaves, flowers, shells or staples, and openwork sculptures makes this console a pure production of Louis XV. However, the stiffness of the strut and wing motif present on the front crosses indicate that this table was realized early in this period to 1730-1735. The wing pattern is indeed typical of nascent taste Rockery. They can be found on the famous "Table of hunts" of Louis XV conducted between 1730 and 1736 by François Roumier or drawings of decorator Nicolas Pineau. The tray is restored red marble of Flanders. Shards retouching and gilding. Dim.: H. 87 cm, L. 177 cm, P. 73 cm.
