"A Fine French Louis XV Beechwood Console Table Circa 1735 - 1745"
A Very fine, French Louis XV beechwood console table carved and waxed. the serpentine Saint Anne marble top, above a pierced scrolled-acanthus, richly carved centred by a large shell flanked by foliate lines interlaced, surrounded by cartels and other floral ornaments that bring honor to the virtuosity of sculptors. It rests on a base with four slightly curved legs on deer hooves.
Balance, nervousness, elegance and quality are the most appropriate words to describe this beautiful table of the first part of the reign of Louis XV, around 1735 -1745.
Period of grace, wit announcing a new breath loving gallantry and civility.
