With frame: 69 * 80 cm * Fred ZELLER 1912-2003, Fred (Frederick Victor) Zeller, born March 26, 1912 in Paris and died on 7 February 2003 in Bergerac (Dordogne), is a politician and a French painter. Trotskyist activist during the years 1930-40, he was elected to head the Grand Orient de France (GODF) in 1971, a position he held until 1973. Engaged in the socialist movement, this young student of Fine Arts alongside Blum and Auriol. He met Leon Trotsky which he became the friend and later secretary, on his arrival in Paris in 1932. From 1945 he gradually withdrew from activism to devote himself to painting, surrealism border and symbolism.
