He was a student of André Devambez painter at the School of Fine Arts in 1917.
Mobilized, he did his military service in Indochina and parallel teaches drawing at the French lycée in Saigon. He made many sketches of Angkor, which will be invaluable during the reconstruction of the temple to the Exposition Coloniale 1931.
He spent two years in Italy, where he painted many views of Venice. Between 1938 and 1945, he toured Egypt, India, Ceylon, Africa. From 1948 to 1955 he taught drawing and modeling at the School of Architecture of Saigon.
