Auguste Aristide Fernand Constantin, true to his favorite theme, painted by St. Catherine of Honfleur church with its highly recognizable bell tower, in front of which stands a small farmer's market. The artist Auguste Aristide Fernand Constantin was born in Paris in 1824.
His father, Augustus Constantin (1790-1842) was a famous Parisian architect, his grandfather, William Constantine, art collector, had participated in the creation of Louvre Museum. In the footsteps of his father, Auguste Aristide Ferdinand made when an accident architectural studies horse makes the infirm. He turns to painting. It then follows the teachings of neoclassical painter François-Edouard Picot (1786-1869) and those of Thomas Couture (1815-1879), an excellent teacher, whose workshop was reputed to compete with the School of Fine Arts. Thomas Couture excelled in the transmission of historical painting.
