Mahal (Taj carpet) This carpet is knotted in the western part of central Iran, in the Sarouk area. They are available with several different designs but often have a central medallion and a clear framework. The Mahal carpets are extremely resistant. The motifs are inspired by the British colonial power in the nineteenth century.
