Elegant giltwooden mirror, richly carved from the early 18th century; of the end of the reign of Louis XIV of the beginning of the Regency. Of rectangular form slightly inflected in its horizontal upper part, augmented by a pediment; Decorated with a central mercury mirror and then mounted on a chassis with miter keys. The treatment of the border of the frame presents protuberances at the four corners as well as in middle parts, where emerge accented acanthus cartridges of lambrequins to the volutes enriched with gadrooned foliage and entangled foliage on a background with braces bordering throat and Gadroons in the periphery of the mirror. It is to note the rare care brought to the inner border of the frame where runs in repetition a waves of volutes against background of streaks. Although the fragmentation of homogeneity of forms and symmetry, which is still very present, remains peculiar to the decorative repertory of what was realized between 1700 and 1715, some elements suggest a later date around 1720-1730; In particular, the shell at the center of the median cartridge of the curved part.
