"Game Table, Louis XV, XVIII Century"
Exceptional game table or hunting walnut table, carved with flowers, acanthus leaves, scrolls asymmetric, a perforated cartridge in which a fight scene between two ibex is shown. The feet are carved leaves and completed by a so-called inverted snail shape. Marble is a royal red beak of corbin. This furniture was located in the great aristocratic mansions for presenting the game in big silver dishes. We find two similar models, one in the hunting Museum in Paris, the other at Versailles. Our furniture is a perfect example of the art of French cabinetmaking eighteenth century. Hunting table in the first half of the eighteenth century, the end of the regency period, the reign of Louis XV early, eighteenth century. Remained for 100 years in the same family by descent.
