These are very durable carpets, made of high quality wool on a cotton warp (wound wire). Heriz carpet is a type of Persian carpet. It is established in thirty villages scattered east of Tabriz, Heriz which, Merivan, Georavan, Bakhshaih. These carpets are of the family of Tabriz carpet but their execution requires special rank apart. The artisans weave carpets of Tabriz and Heriz use the same cards but with a different interpretation: those of Heriz, ignoring the art of forging curves, changes the appearance of arabesques drawn on cartons weaving them with lines perpendicular, horizontal and oblique. From the same design may therefore arise two different carpet: a Tabriz and Heriz.
