"Jacques De Berbisey's Fireplace Plate"
(3rd January 1598/16 September 1678), Baron de Vantoux (Moselle), Lord of Belleneuve (Gold Coast), Councilor to the Parliament of Dijon in 1623 or to the arms of John II, Baron De Vantoux, son of the former, president at Mortier in 1673, the Berbisey family is illustrious in the province of Belleneuve and filled the first positions of the Robe, many descendants were mayor of Dijon where several hotels were erected including the grand hotel de Bebisey at 25 St Anne Street. His coat of arms: Azure to a sheep grazing silver on a isolated terrace of Vert accompanied in chief of a star; Helm and lambrequins, like a crest: a silver siren, holding in the right hand a comb of gold, and with the left hand a mirror furnished with the same. A fete, visible on our last photo, is noted. Its weight is 189 kg. Documentation will be provided.
