Object description :

"Cartel XVIIIème In Vernis Martin De Ledoux"
Superb applique cartel and console in martin varnish. It rests on its ass of lamp and is capped of its capital of origin. The set is decorated with floral motifs and foliage on a background of green varnish and lined with bronzes of very high quality, gilded origin and finely chiseled. The enamelled dial is signed by LEDOUX in Paris, famous watchmaker of the eighteenth. In its original state without ever being retouched. Superb proportion and exceptional quality. Bibliographical references: TARDY, Dictionnaire des Horlogers français 1972, p. 360 - Pierre KJELLBERG, The French Pendulum, Editions de l'Amateur, p. 78 et seq. The movement has been revised and works perfectly, a few splinters to paint from to the wear and tear of time but can be easily restored.
