"Large Haussmannian Oval Mirror Napoleon III Period 1855-1865"
Large oval wooden mirror carved stucco and gilded to the leaf of Napoleon III. Oval shape decorated with a fine peripheral decor of strips of pearls and oves. Surrounded by a perforated pediment with a cartouche adorned with acanthus flanked by powerful voluble garlands of rocky inspiration, with fine genets, mimosa sheaves and other buds of roses, peonies and daisies beneath. The equally worked base gives off a more neoclassical ornament in which the leaves of laurel and oak rubbing with the teeth of wolves and wrapped volutes. Beautiful period gilding, on the edge one can distinguish the succession of small gold leaf sign of very neat decor and of a very high quality. The central mirror of course original and as it should be biscoté and in perfect condition, only a slight wrinkle of time stands out in the upper right. On the back a parquet floor in maritime pine finished with care this elegant work of the mid-19th century Napoleon III Haussmann period around 1855-1865. Dimension: Height 133cm Width 82cms.
