Superb view of CONSTANTINOPLE (ISTANBUL) "Le BOSPHORE" circa 1920 painted in watercolor circa 1920 by Leonid SOLOGOUB (or SOLOGUB) - 1884 / 1956- on cardboard 32x45cm - excellent condition. Leonid Romanovich SOLOGOUB was born in 1884 in RUSSIA in the region of Krasnodar. He died in 1956 at the Hague in the Netherlands. In 1910, he joined the union of architects artists and participated in their exhibitions. He participated in Moscow and St. Petersburg at the world 's art exhibitions, of which he became a member in 1918. A friend of LARIONOV, he created in 1912 the union of painters, architects and sculptors. In 1919, he went to CHINA and then visited CEYLAN, INDIA and JAPAN. During the trip, he organizes exhibitions with the union of TOMSK painters, one in Vladivostok and another in TOKIO. At the end of 1919 he arrived at CONSTANTINOPLE. In 1922 he moved to the Hague. In 1924 he organized a large exhibition of Russian painters. He participated from 1928 to 1930 at the Salon des Indépendants in PARIS .. He died in HOLLAND in 1956. His daughter who died in 2007 bequeathed to RUSSIA 350 works of his father. Other works available (see last pictures)
