Superb rare and very large sculpture representing Mary Magdalene XVIIth time oak with its polychrome and original gilding. It represents a woman seated and leaning against a rock, dressed in a long red drape with a neckline and a golden belt. She is wearing a cap covering her long curly hair, bare feet. Deep carving work amazing for its size, great finesse of the details of the face and especially remarkable sculpture of the hair and drapery. The remains of polychrome period are bright, French work XVII. Accidents in both hands.
