"Art Nouveau Cloisonne Vase By Louchet In Paris"
Rare vase of Art Nouveau period around 1900 by Paul François Louchet (1854-1936) signed in cursive letters enamelled 'Louchet Paris' in the decoration and 'Louchet' in hollow in the bronze grind on the base. Elegant bulbous form gilded bronze and cloisonné polychrome champlevé enamel with rich naturalistic decor showing umbellifera foliage on a turquoise blue background. Very good condition, dimensions: 25.5 cm high X 10.2 cm wide. To note in reference models of smaller similar vases sold around 6000 € at Millon in Paris (see photos). In 1907, Pillivuyt & Cie exhibited fifty pieces that took place at the Musée Galliéra, the catalog of the exhibition mentions a vase with a decoration designed by Lamarre and designed by Louchet, the vase had already been exposed in 1901. This artist complete, friend of Lalique, Daum and Majorelle performs a work of carving particularly neat. Paul Louchet also elaborated: jewels, pendants and ceramics before devoting himself to painting. He collaborated with the greatest of his contemporaries such as Alphonse Lamarre, Eugene Feuillâtre, Francois Berthoud, at the Universal exhibition of 1900 he sent several works in collaboration with Louis Chalon representative of the Art Nouveau style. He is a member of the Fine Arts Society and is successfully presenting a booth at the Universal Exhibition in Chicago.
