Portrait of a little girl standing on a background of flowery wallpaper. Signed R. de Graeve and dated 1933. René de Graeve (Mouscron1901-Lille1957) is a Franco-Belgian portrait painter. Student of the Beaux- Arts of Lille where he has always resided and worked. After the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lille, which devoted a retrospective to him in 1967, the Fould Museum of Courbevoie paid tribute to him with an exhibition in 2012. These exhibitions allowed us to rediscover an artist who at that time was very famous and appreciated for his portraits whose style has evolved throughout his career.
