This rectangular-shaped casked is made in walnut with brass and tortoiseshell marquetry.
Lock, escutcheon and key original.
H. 12,5 cm, w. 22,5 cm, d. 14,5 cm.
Last quarter of 17th century, attributed to Alexandre-Jean OPPENORDT, French cabinet-maker (Gueldre, 1639-Paris, 16 avril 1715). Alexandre-Jean OPPENORDT is a French cabinetmaker of Dutch origin (Gelderland, 1639-Paris, April 16, 1715). He worked at the Manufacture royale des Gobelins, and in 1684 he was housed in the Louvre. He notably executed marquetry cabinets for the king's medals at the Palace of Versailles.
