"Gustave Albert (gustaf Albert Andersson) 1866/1905 Crozant"
Superb oil on wood 30x40 cm signed by the great impressionist Swedish painter GUSTAF ALBERT ANDERSSON (or GUSTAVE ALBERT) born in ESKILTUNA in SWEDEN in 1866 and died in FRANCE in GOUVIEUX in the OISE in 1905. After his studies at GÖTEBORG and a move to NEW YORK, he moved to FRANCE. His landscapes of BRETAGNE and the OISE valley are completed by his stay in GARGILESSE. There he will meet Allan OSTERLIND, another Swedish painter, and presumably the young Anders OSTERLIND. Gustave ALBERT exhibited at the National Society of Fine Arts of which he is a member and sent a view of GARGILESSE in 1897. The World's Fair of 1900 awarded him a bronze medal.
