Great pair of candelabra with winged victories in patinated bronze and gilt bronze, Empire period. Ancient style caryatids support a crown on which are fixed three horns of plenty. Thomire delivers an identical pair (whose base is different) to the Bavarian Court around 1810. An similar pair to our piece was delivered in 1816 to Garde Meuble by Choiselat. This pair will be placed at the Château de Rambouillet until 1831 and at the Tuileries in 1833.
Impossible to know who Thomire or Choiselat is the creator of this spectacular model.
Condition Report: Restored by our bronzer in January 2018. Restoration of the patina. We also took care of the threading of one of the central rod. Very beautiful state of gilding.
