Queen Victoria’s painter Walter Biddlecombre has exhibited at the
Royal Academy of Art and the Royal Society of British Artist from 1883
to 1886. The Royal Society of British Artist is a British art body
established in 1823 as the Society of British Artists, as an alternative to
the Royal Academy.
From 1891 to 1899 as many painters, Walter Biddlecombe moved to the
south of France and was influenced by the strong sunlight he found
there. He developed the unique and highly recognizable style that
became fully realized during his stay. Walter Biddlecombe did several
Provencal’s landscape around Aix en Provence. 1891
