BACHMANN Alfred Félix August (1863-1956) German school 19th - 20th Century Born on October 1st, 1863 in Dirschau (close to Dantzig). Died in 1956 in Ambach- on-Obb. Painter of lively landscapes, marines. Orientalist. He was pupil of the academy of fine arts of Königsberg in old Prussia-Eastern. Then he fixed in Munich in 1891. He was devoted to the landscapes of Iceland, Normandy, coasts of Portugal, sites of Ténériffe, sights of Venice, Istanbul and the Bosphorus; what lets suppose that he travelled much. In 1907, in a residence of Francfort-sur-le-Main, he performed with softening a large plank representing a landscape of Iceland. His works should not be confused with those of Adolph Bachmann painter of Swiss origin born in 1880. Meudon Museum : « La Seine »
