Nicolas Wacker : Nude (recto) Woman (verso)

Nicolas WACKER (Kiev1897-Paris1987) emigrated first to Berlin before arriving in Paris in 1926. Pupil then massier of Bissière who became the friend of all his life, he developed a singular art with many facets. This painting presents two of them, one more cubist is the oldest, around 1926/27, the other of his almost dreamlike vein around 1935. We will consult with advantage the biography that Daniel Blumé dedicated to him to the editions Somogy .
Oil on canvas recto-verso 41 X 27 cm, with a small accident of one cm on the right, presented in a beautiful green and gold frame 1920 47 X 34 cm.
Was part of a mini retrospective of the painter in 2006 at Casino Bellevue in Biarritz.
