Small silver spoon Louis XIV late seventeenth century, around 1680/1690. Fascinating spoonful decorated with iron spear, also called "rat's tail". This spoon was not stamped in a matrix, the shape is forged with a hammer and all the decors were rifled, chiseled, resumed with the engraver's chisel. The stem carries a revolutionary punch of recency, one distinguishes a punch on the seed finishing the spatula which could be a punch of load of the period 1684/87. The spatula is decorated on both sides, the pattern of the stem differs from one side to another. The pieces of this era are very interesting to watch. They are demonstative of a high quality of execution and know-how that can only be the sum of several generations of experience. 13.6 cm long 26 gr approximately
