"Minaudière, Box A Pill In Sterling Silver Art Deco"
Minaudiere in sterling silver of French manufacture and art deco period. The box of geometric shape is "guilloche" (decor engraved mechanically). It includes a mirror mercury bisauté and two compartments. These compartments were originally to contain makeup accessories. It can very well today serve as a pill box. The object is equipped with a bail, which I thought I should hang on a safety chain or a bracelet. The article is hallmarked by the French customs of the punch "boar head" on all its parts. I can not find a maker's mark, however the box is numbered, which shows the order book of a big house. the overall dimensions of the box, without its bail are 8 cm X 4.5 cm and only 1 cm thick. the compartments measure 4.5 mm in height (interior therefore useful height). The object weighs gross (mirror) 80gr approximately.
