"Grand Pitcher Earthenware Jug Jacques Pouchain Atelier Dieulefit Twentieth"
Large pitcher or jug in ceramic or chamotte earth with scarified decoration on the body, by Jacques Pouchain * for Atelier Dieulefit, vintage 1960s twentieth century. This pitcher is in good condition and is very decorative. Signed in the ass. A note: some wear of time, see photos. * Jacques POUCHAIN (1925-2015): At the end of the 40s, Jacques Pouchain leaves Paris and interrupts his training as an architect to devote himself to art in the south of France. He installed a ceramic workshop at Dieulefit where he created a personal work and a utilitarian production. His practice of a white enamel resting on a manganese oxide with an engraved decoration is quite close to the Anglo-Saxon practices of the 50s. In the 60s, he approaches the abstraction before developing, in the 70s, the theme of femininity and fertility. (See website Artefact Design Gallery) Artist very well on ArtPrice side.
