BEAUTIFUL OLD TABLE, OIL ON CANVAS OF THE XVIIth CENTURY APPEARING A BIBLICAL SCENE ** FRENCH SCHOOL JE PENSE ** The Christ is represented half lying surrounded by archangels which offer him offerings on bottom of landscape. For information: I acquired this oil on canvas while its chassis was completely deteriorated by the pangs of time. A confirmed conservator intervened to restore this painting. Namely the take-off of an old ill-made lamination, a new reversible lamination on a canvas of the nineteenth, mounting on a new old chassis, cleaning, retouching and varnishing.
