"Renaissance Canopy Bed"
Exceptional canopy bed in oak with a rich carved decoration on all sides.The bedside decorated with pilasters with Ionic capitals, lamptones and foot carved with foliage, stylized fans and cartridges framing the heads of cherubs. are adorned with a decoration called vermiculture, the ends of these same lanterns are lined with feathered Indian masks The columns supporting the canopy are balusters sculpted with flowery scrolls. The canopy adorned with a simple cornice with denticles. together rests on four baluster legs. The fabric trim, at the small dot is partly old. The bed is in its original dimensions, except a change in height on the columns made in the nineteenth century (four cattails posterior baluster)
