"Pair Of Bronze Busts "dante And Charbonnet" After Vass"
Beautiful and rare pair of bronze busts on wooden pedestals painted in imitation marble XIXth. They represent and bear on the piedouche the inscriptions for one P. CHARBONNET and the other Scripta Virum DANT, and are Signed "Quesnel Fond (eur) in Paris". Model after Louis Claude VASSE in bronze and beautiful shaded brown patina they are presented on a painted wooden base immiting the marble. Signed and dated on the back "Délécol fecit after Vassé, Troyes 1849/1850". His bronzes of quality are of a great realism and a superb fineness of carving, in excellent state.
