"Earth-neuviers "
Oil on hardboard panel depicting two land-neuviers docked in Saint-Malo. Signed lower right Serge Sauvage. Back, a sketch of Vauban basin before the ramparts of Saint-Malo. An almost identical picture ROSARY is in the Museum of that city. Twentieth century (between the wars). The earth-Neuvier "Armorican" (right), 355 tons, was built in 1921 for weapons Louis GIRARD. It was sunk by collision in HALIFAX in 1942. When the "Madiana" (left), built in 1926 for weapons CHAPDELAINE Cancale, he was captured June 5, 1941 and sold in Montreal.
