"Two Seated Individuals, Mexico, Jaina Island, Maya (recent Classic, 600-900 Pcn)"
A young girl sits next to a “lubricious” old man who has a hand under the chin of the girl. Both cranial deformation. They could be two deities. Small traces of blue and red engobes.
Brown terracotta.
Good condition. The base of the head of the girl appears to have been glued very early. A hole is located under the statue that seems to be made for firing the object.
Mexico, Jaina Island, Maya (Late Classic, 600-900 AD).
11.3 cm. X 7 cm.
Former Belgian collection before 1970.
