"Situle - Iran Or Louristan, 11-10th Century Acn"
This bronze vessel with repousse motifs probably represents a zoomorphic god sitting on a throne. He seems to receive a deer offering as a feline standing on his legs. To the left of this character, stands another cervid standing looking at the animal god. At the neck and the base, frieze of successive scrolls and symmetrical. No doubt this mysterious scene calls for a religious or religious evocation in homage to this God of ancient Persia or Louristan. Bronze with dark green patina and blackish sometimes a little greenish. Iran or Louristan, 11-10th century ACN. A small hole exists in the situla. Part of the object has no drawing (due to wear or because badly repelled?). H_10.2 cm. Old Belgian collection.
