"Hollow Human Head, Baule"
Stylized and triangular. It has been reduced to a few essential elements: the eyes, the nose, the mouth. The surface is smooth and accentuates the majesty of the work. Three holes are due to wear and probably to the age of the object that has been hit a lot. Cuprous metal. Ivory Coast, Baoulé, probably 19th century. State of conservation very satisfactory, maybe it is about a ornament of sword or a pommel representing the face of an ancestor. H_7.2 cm. L_4.6 cm. Old Belgian collection.
