Secretary Louis XVI inlaid rosewood, amaranth and light wood nets. It opens with a drawer at the top, a flap opening on 4 lockers and 4 compartments, and two doors in the lower part opening on a shelf and a lockable cabinet. Saint Anne gray marble top; beautiful ornamentation of chiseled and gilded bronzes (gilding wear). Parisian work stamped JF Griffet Louis XVI. Jean-François Griffet was received master on July 28, 1779. Installed rue Ponceau then rue Perdue, he produced some furniture Louis XV style, and especially furniture Transition and Louis XVI. A secretary similar to ours is an illustration of Pierre Kjellberg's work on French furniture of the 18th century.
